Piggy Getting Started Guide

Piggy is MiniToon’s landmark Roblox horror-escape experience (place 4623386862, released January 2020, 14B+ visits). You join a lobby, vote a chapter and gamemode, then either hunt as Piggy or escape as a survivor before the timer hits zero. This getting-started guide explains the loop for brand-new players: how a round flows, what voting changes, how roles differ, how Piggy Tokens work, why codes are not a day-one strategy, and which pages to open next.

Official community Discord: discord.gg/piggy. There is no official Trello. Book 1 and Book 2 chapters form the campaign backbone; Build Mode lets creators host custom maps once you understand the base rules.

Your first ten minutes

  1. Launch Piggy from Roblox and wait in the lobby.
  2. Vote for a familiar or beginner-friendly chapter—House is ideal.
  3. Prefer Bot mode while learning so Piggy is AI-controlled.
  4. When the round starts, you get a short head start before Piggy wakes.
  5. Grab items, unlock doors in a sensible order, and sprint to the exit once objectives are done.
  6. Whether you escape or get caught, you still learn spawns—then queue again.

Keep the Controls page handy for binds. When you are ready for a step-by-step House clear, open House Escape.

Round flow explained

A standard public round looks like this:

  • Lobby — players gather, customize skins, equip traps or abilities, and chat.
  • Voting — pick chapter (House, Station, Gallery, and many more across Book 1 & 2) and gamemode.
  • Spawn — survivors appear on the map; Piggy (bot or player) enters after the wake-up delay.
  • Mid-round — item fetch, puzzle doors, crouch spots, stuns, traps, and team calls.
  • End — survivors escape, Piggy eliminates everyone, or the timer expires.

Private servers and Build Mode change hosting rules, but the survivor fantasy stays the same: find the right item, use it on the right prop, stay alive.

Voting: chapters and gamemodes

Chapter votes decide the map and which bot skin is canonical (House uses Penny). Gamemode votes decide threat type:

ModeWho is Piggy?Beginner note
BotAIBest for learning
PlayerOne humanExpect smarter ambushes
Player + BotBothHard; needed for some endings
InfectionSpreading infectedChaotic; traps often disabled
TraitorHidden killerTrust no one
SwarmExtra bots over timeVery hard
TagTag-style swapsDifferent pace

Full mode notes live on Controls. As a new survivor, leave Swarm and Player + Bot for later.

Roles: survivor vs Piggy

Survivor

  • Pick up and use items (keys, hammer, wrench, gun, gears, and map-specific tools).
  • Crouch through vents and tight spaces bots struggle with.
  • Spend energy on abilities once unlocked (radar, decoy, camouflage, and more).
  • Coordinate who holds the escape key items so you do not drop progress when caught.

Piggy (player-controlled)

  • Eliminate survivors before they finish the escape chain.
  • Place up to three equipped traps using energy.
  • Learn common item rooms and camp high-traffic doors without tunneling one player forever.
  • If you leave mid-round, a bot often replaces you depending on mode.

Infection and Traitor remix these rules—read the controls guide before those queues.

Piggy Tokens, shop, and skins

Tokens are earned through play and spent on cosmetics, traps, and abilities. Skins change your Piggy appearance when you are selected; survivors still see the threat clearly, but collection is a huge part of the fantasy. Secret and quest skins have their own routes—see Secret Skins when you are ready.

Codes: main Piggy’s redemption system is disabled (September 2026). Do not stall your tutorial waiting for free token dumps. Details: Codes Hub and How to redeem. Branched Realities codes belong to a Wizard Watch Studios spin-off only.

Gamepasses can speed token gain or add convenience; they are optional. Daily or rotating quests, when available, are a better free focus than rumor codes.

Book 1 and Book 2 at a glance

  • Book 1 — classic chapter sequence starting at House and building item literacy.
  • Book 2 — continuation with new maps, bots that patrol differently on later chapters, and deeper story tools.
  • Extra / event chapters — limited or special rules; check Updates.

You do not need to finish every chapter in order to have fun, but House first prevents bad habits.

Survival habits that matter on day one

  • Listen for footsteps and the wake-up announcement.
  • Never carry a critical key while standing still in a hallway.
  • Use the gun only when Piggy is about to secure a kill or block the exit.
  • Learn two crouch routes per map before attempting Player mode.
  • Watch teammates’ item holds so you do not duplicate wrench trips.
  • After deaths, note where you failed—spawn knowledge is the real tutorial.
  1. Controls — inputs, energy, traps, abilities, modes.
  2. House Escape — full Chapter 1 route.
  3. Pages Locations — lore collectibles.
  4. Secret Skins — collection goals.
  5. Lab Endings — late-game conclusions.
  6. Guides Hub — full index.
  7. Codes — status so you avoid misinformation.

Mindset for long-term progress

Piggy rewards map memory more than reaction alone. Ten focused House runs teach more than hopping random hard modes. Track which keys you still misplace, unlock a simple trap set for when you play Piggy, and join discord.gg/piggy for patch talk—not for shady “generators.”

With voting understood, roles clear, tokens earning in the background, and House on your homework list, you are ready to play Piggy the way millions of Roblox players already do: escape, learn, customize, and come back for Book 2.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What should new Piggy players do first?

Queue House on Bot mode, learn item pickups and crouch, then follow the House Escape walkthrough until you can clear it consistently.

How does voting work in Piggy?

The lobby votes on a chapter map and a gamemode such as Bot or Player. The winning combination decides the round rules.

Are there codes for new players?

Main Piggy has no working codes while redemption is disabled. Earn tokens from gameplay instead, or see Branched Realities only if you play that spin-off.

What are Piggy Tokens used for?

Tokens buy skins, traps, abilities, and related shop unlocks. Play chapters and quests to earn them.

Should I play survivor or Piggy first?

Learn survivor routes on Bot mode first so you understand item order. Play as Piggy after you know where survivors must go.

Is Piggy still updated?

Piggy remains a major Roblox title with Book 1 and Book 2 content, modes, and community events. Check Updates and Discord discord.gg/piggy for the latest.
