Piggy: Intercity Explained

Open-world RPG spin of the franchise — launch context, differences, and what to expect.

Piggy Intercity

Piggy: Intercity is the franchise’s open-world survival RPG chapter—not another twelve-minute escape map bolted onto the classic lobby. It released on June 13, 2026 as a separate Roblox experience developed with MiniToon’s Intercity team. The story sits roughly ten years after the events players associate with Book 1 and Book 2, shifting the fantasy from “escape this chapter before the timer” to “explore Evalia, make choices, build a base, and survive the infection with other players.”

This page covers what Intercity is, how it differs from classic Piggy, and how to keep news straight while the original game keeps updating. For seasonal collabs and Advent calendars on the main place, read Events & collabs. For the broader patch culture overview, return to the Updates Hub.

What Intercity actually is

Official positioning describes Intercity as a multiplayer, choice-driven open-world RPG. You create a character, explore the devastated world of Evalia, meet NPCs, play minigames, gather materials, fight infected threats, and claim a base plot. Relationship outcomes and story decisions matter: the same questline can branch based on how you treat companions. That design language is closer to a survival RPG than to Station or Alleys.

Expect systems classic Piggy never needed:

  • Persistent exploration across many locations instead of one chapter layout per round
  • Inventory, crafting-adjacent resource loops, and consumables tied to survival needs
  • Base building with block limits, storage crates, and decorative tools
  • Quest journals, collection trackers, and badge-style milestones
  • Stat or upgrade points that can be reset with premium currencies in later patches

Trailers and early post-launch patches emphasize polish—compass improvements, collection tabs, skippable intro cutscenes—because Intercity sessions last longer than a single escape attempt.

Classic Piggy still rewards map knowledge: which drawer holds the key, where Slow Trap hurts most, how Good vs True endings diverge on Plant. Intercity rewards route planning, NPC trust, and base logistics. Skill from one game helps mood and franchise literacy, but it does not auto-complete the other.

If you are brand new to the horror-escape side, start with Getting Started and the chapter checklist before assuming Intercity replaces those chapters. It does not—MiniToon continues to update main Piggy with seasons and events in parallel.

Launch context (2025–2026)

Intercity’s road to release was public and delayed more than once. Early messaging floated late-2025 windows; trailers then pointed at early 2026 dates, including a March target and an April 25 overview window, before bugs and polish concerns pushed the full launch to June 13, 2026. A demo period let players sample systems before the “out now” milestone. That history matters when old thumbnails still say “pre-launch” or mislabel Intercity as “Book 3 chapter.”

After launch, the experience kept iterating: collection UIs, quest visibility, compass and camera comfort, cheaper paints, higher build limits, and other quality-of-life changes. Treat Intercity like a live service RPG place—patch notes will keep reshaping early-game friction.

Treetops update (July 26, 2026)

On July 26, 2026, Intercity shipped the Treetops patch (v1.1.4). Headline changes players actually feel:

  • Treetops location added to Evalia exploration
  • New side quests (community notes cite about 2.5 quest additions) plus a related cutscene—start the Treetops line by talking to Kira in Freefall
  • Daily quests inside Intercity for recurring XP and coin goals (separate from classic Piggy Daily Skin Quests)
  • Level cap raised from 50 to 55, with maxed players getting a golden level icon
  • Quality-of-life and bug fixes (quest pinning, cutscene skip placement, sprint/weapon interactions from nearby patches, and more)

Treat Treetops as post-launch region content, not a classic Piggy chapter. Keep the existing trailer above for launch tone; do not expect a second embedded video on this page for the Treetops drop—use MiniToon / creator clips externally if you need a visual tour.

What players should do first

  1. Open the correct Roblox place (Intercity, not classic Piggy) from official links or MiniToon’s posts.
  2. Finish character creation and the opening decisions carefully; early choices can color relationships.
  3. Learn survival basics—food, health pressure, infected encounters—before dumping resources into decoration.
  4. Unlock a base plot and understand block / crate limits before large builds.
  5. Track quests and collections so you do not miss region content.
  6. Keep classic Piggy bookmarked for events, Daily Skin Quests, and chapter endings via Events and Players.

Official community channels remain Discord discord.gg/piggy and MiniToon’s socials. There is still no official Trello. Deep lore dumps and chapter archives also live on the community Piggy Fandom wiki.

We will not pretend Intercity codes, region spoilers, or every NPC route belong on one article. When those systems stabilize, expect linked child guides. Until then, use the trailer above for tone, play the live place for truth, and verify every “Intercity leak” against Discord rather than random script discords (see the Scripts Hub warning if you are tempted by cheats).

Why Intercity matters to classic players

Intercity answers a long-running question: what happens when Piggy outgrows pure chapter structure? Instead of deleting Book 1 and Book 2, MiniToon forked the fantasy into a second product. Collectors still chase Advent skins on the original game; explorers chase Evalia. Franchise health in 2026 is the combination of both.

If a creator claims “Piggy shut down for Intercity,” they are wrong. Classic Piggy remains the place for infection modes, Build Mode creativity, trap loadouts, and limited collabs. Intercity is the open-world RPG set later on the timeline. Keep both in your continue list, and use this wiki’s Updates section whenever the lobby—or the Evalia map—changes again.
