Lab Endings Guide

Lab is Book 2 Chapter 12 and the finale of classic Piggy’s main story. Besides the standard escape endings tied to Willow’s fate, Lab hosts the Hidden Ending—the route that unlocks the TIO / ??? skin. This guide focuses on what each ending track expects, how to prepare badges and settings, and a practical Hidden Ending walkthrough with Swarm and Bot requirements. Pair it with the Secret Skins Guide for the skin checklist and Pages & Locations if your journal is still incomplete.

Lab ending types at a glance

Lab supports multiple completion badges depending on how you resolve Willow’s confrontation and whether you qualify for the secret route:

  • Standard / Survivor-style clears — Escape Lab through the normal chapter flow after learning the memory phases, item routes, and bot pressure from Distorted Piggy.
  • Savior Ending continuity — Help Willow in the continuity your settings and prior Factory/Lab choices expect. Savior toggle in settings matters for Hidden Ending prep.
  • Hidden Ending — Multi-map sequence (Docks → Camp Swarm → Lab Bot → TIO boss) that awards the Hidden Ending badge and the TIO skin.

You should earn the normal Lab ending badges before treating Hidden Ending as a trophy hunt. The secret route checks that someone in the server already finished the Book 1 and Book 2 badge set, including Plant, Factory, and Lab ending variants (event badges and the Secret Badge are excluded).

Prep checklist before Hidden Ending

  1. Confirm all required Book 1 and Book 2 badges on at least one account in the server.
  2. Enable Savior Ending in settings for every badged player who must keep the route alive.
  3. Use a private server so the lobby will actually vote Docks, then Camp, then Lab.
  4. Know basic Docks routing so Pony is never scratched.
  5. Bring patience for Camp Swarm and Lab Bot—public lobbies rarely cooperate.

Leaving the server mid-sequence resets Hidden Ending progress. Dying is fine; switching experiences is not.

Phase 1 — Docks (Chapter 9)

Select Docks on Player or a light Infection lobby. Your job is to escape without Pony being hit by the infected. If you personally lack badges, the fully badged teammate must escape with Pony following them or the next phase will not unlock.

Tips:

  • Clear threats away from Pony’s path before you open late doors.
  • Do not activate Umbra-related hazards that still count as failing Pony’s safety even if they look optional.
  • Let extra teammates escape first if the lobby is crowded, then finish with the badge holder and Pony.

When Docks succeeds, stay in the server and move to Camp immediately.

Phase 1 — Camp on Swarm (Chapter 11)

Vote Camp on Swarm mode. Swarm spawns additional Piggy bots over time, so move with purpose.

  1. Obtain the blue key and open the watchtower blue key door.
  2. Use the keypad inside. Enter 467854 and confirm with the green check.
  3. You want PASSCODE ACCEPTED. A wrong code yields SYSTEM LOCKED and forces a Camp restart for this step.
  4. Escape or die—either is acceptable after a correct code.

If the keypad is missing, Savior toggle is off, Docks failed silently, or you need to re-earn Savior continuity (some players re-clear Factory Savior, then retry Docks). Do not proceed to Lab until Camp accepts the code.

Phase 2 — Lab on Bot (vent code)

Vote Lab on Bot mode. Distorted can teleport; assign a distractor if you have one.

  1. Note the symbol keypad in the hallway near survivor spawn.
  2. Find the wrench and remove four vent covers in this order:
    • Near survivor spawn
    • Beside the yellow safe room
    • Near the blue keycard door area
    • Inside the blue keycard room
  3. Read the four numbers under the vents. Convert them to the keypad’s letter/symbol alphabet in spawn-to-farthest order.
  4. Enter the code before the round collapses. Aim to finish while comfortable time remains—tight timers are a common soft fail even with a correct code.
  5. On success you get PASSCODE ACCEPTED and a cutscene into the TIO sequence. A wrong entry locks the keypad for that round.

Numbers and symbol mappings change between rounds. Always re-read vents; never reuse a code from a video thumbnail.

TIO boss — Part 1 (distortion puzzles)

Abilities are disabled. You replay puzzle languages from earlier Book 2 chapters:

  1. Alleys number code into a keypad.
  2. Ship color walls—follow arrow directions on both sides.
  3. Docks Roman numerals on the rotating pillar.
  4. Temple symbol circle—align to the wall marks with the black arrow as reference.
  5. Camp roulette—press the indicated red dots (opposites help; the nearest dot can be random).
  6. Enter the black void while avoiding Insolence traps in front of it.

Stay calm and assign one caller if multiple survivors are present. Panic mis-entries waste the run more often than the bot does.

TIO boss — Part 2 (memory items)

After the teleport:

  1. Deliver wooden sword to Pony, pipe to Zee, and bat to Georgie. Music shifts and TIO enrages with stronger chase behavior; upstairs opens.
  2. Upstairs, deliver bone to Doggy, carrot to Bunny, and grass to Zizzy. Each delivery is a hit on TIO.
  3. Avoid White and especially Shadow Sentinels—the shadow variant is easy to miss in dark corners.
  4. When all three upstairs deliveries land, TIO falls, the finale cutscene plays, and you receive the Hidden Ending badge plus the TIO skin.

Standard Lab tips (non-hidden)

Even if you are only farming normal Lab badges:

  • Learn memory-phase item benches and key loops before adding Hard Mode.
  • Keep one player on cure / objective duty while another kites Distorted.
  • Savior versus other continuities can change dialogue and badge outcomes—finish each intentional path deliberately instead of mixing settings mid-grind.
  • Pages in Lab still follow journal rules; Hidden Ending attempts can double as page attempts if you still need Lab’s six scraps for Willow and Distorted.

Fail checklist

  • Missing Book badges on everyone in the server
  • Savior Ending disabled
  • Pony scratched on Docks / Umbra interference
  • Camp not on Swarm, or wrong keypad code
  • Lab not on Bot, vents opened out of order, or code entered too late
  • Server hop between phases
  • Boss mis-deliveries while ignoring Shadow Sentinel

After you unlock TIO

Equip TIO from the skins menu and enjoy one of the strongest scare-factor cosmetics in Player mode. Compare it with Distorted, Ombra, and shop staples on the Skins Tier List. If Mrs. P, Ombra, or Duocara are still locked, return to the Secret Skins Guide. New accounts that lack pages should not start here—clear Pages & Locations and basic badges first.

Lab’s Hidden Ending is long by design. Treat Docks, Camp, and Lab as one sitting, keep Savior on, and call puzzles out loud. Once TIO is yours, classic Piggy’s hardest main-story cosmetic chase is finished.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What skin does the Lab Hidden Ending unlock?

The Hidden Ending awards the TIO skin (often shown as ???). It is separate from Willow, Distorted, and normal Lab escape badges.

Why must Camp be on Swarm mode?

The Hidden Ending keypad in the blue key watchtower only appears during the Swarm step after a successful safe Docks escape with Savior continuity.

What is the Camp keypad code?

Enter 467854 and confirm. A wrong code locks the system for that attempt and you must restart the Camp step.

Can I leave the server between Docks and Lab?

No. Leaving or switching servers resets Hidden Ending progress. Dying is fine as long as you stay in the same server.

Do I need every event badge?

No. You need the main Book 1 and Book 2 badges including Plant, Factory, and Lab ending variants. Event badges and the Secret Badge are not required.

Should Lab be Player or Bot for the vent code?

Use Bot mode for the Lab vent and symbol keypad step. Player mode is better earlier on Docks when you need precise Pony protection.
