Survivor Abilities in Piggy
Blueprints, energy costs, loadout ideas, and when traps beat your kit.
Survivor abilities are the energy-powered perks that keep you alive when map knowledge alone is not enough. In MiniToon’s Piggy (place 4623386862), survivors unlock abilities by collecting blueprints, buy them with Piggy Tokens, equip up to three, and spend from the shared energy bar during a round. This guide explains the unlock loop, what each major ability role is for, how energy pacing works, and how your kit trades off against the traps a human Piggy or Traitor will place.
Pair this page with Controls for hotkeys (Q / R / F on PC) and the deeper mode rules on Gamemodes. If you came here hunting promo rewards, remember main-game codes are disabled.
How unlocks work
- Blueprints spawn on Book 1 and Book 2 maps (not every event or special chapter).
- Each ability needs eight blueprints. Picking one up advances a random ability you have not finished yet.
- When an ability’s blueprint bar is complete, buy it in the shop with tokens earned from escapes, kills (as Piggy), and related play.
- Equip up to three abilities before the round. Your energy bar appears beside those slots in-match.
Seasons have sometimes sold blueprint progress with event currency; the evergreen path is still map pickups plus tokens. Disconnect bugs can rarely roll back a single blueprint tick—finish important farms in stable servers.
Energy bar basics
- Energy regenerates over time toward a displayed cap of 10.
- Rough pacing: about one point every ~7.5 seconds without boosts.
- Each ability shows its cost; if you lack energy, the icon feedback turns restrictive (smaller icon / red cost).
- Survivors spend energy on abilities; Piggy and Traitor spend the same bar on traps instead.
Blowing ten energy on a panic Sprint with no follow-up often loses the chase. Treat energy like a third inventory slot: spend it when it creates an escape, an item find, or a teammate save—not when you are already safe in a vent.
Ability roster (roles and costs)
Exact shop prices shift with seasons; energy costs below match the widely documented live set.
| Ability | Energy | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Sprint | 6 | Short speed burst; crawl stays useful while boosted |
| Magnifying Glass | 4 | Reveals item locations to you for ~6s |
| Scanner | 4 | Reveals nearby Piggy players |
| Radar | 5 | Marks Piggy proximity |
| Invest | 5 | Speeds your personal energy regen |
| Flare | 6 | Slows / blinds Piggy briefly |
| Camouflage | 7 | Harder to see while active |
| Decoy | 8 | Fake you that can trip traps (~15s or until caught) |
| Team Magnifying Glass | 9 | Shares item reveals with teammates |
| Warp | 9 | Relocation tech between set points (plan both ends) |
| Team Energy Boost | 10 | Top-up for the lobby’s energy bars |
| Crafty | 10 | High-cost craft/utility niche |
Support abilities that help the whole team often show a floating notice such as “[PLAYER] has used Team Magnifying Glass!” so everyone knows who spent the bar.
Recommended loadouts
Beginner trio
Sprint + Magnifying Glass + Flare. Cheap information, a panic button, and a chase breaker. Learn Station and House item graphs with Mag Glass before you invest in glamorous Warp tech.
Duo / coordinated lobby
Team Magnifying Glass + Team Energy Boost + Decoy. One player becomes the information battery; Decoy clears Alarm or Slow traps on forced paths (battery box, gear machines, exit halls).
Solo clutch
Camouflage + Radar/Scanner + Sprint. Information on where Piggy is, invis-adjacent escapes, and a burst to the door. Weaker for teaching maps because you rely less on Mag Glass.
Anti-trap specialist
Decoy + Warp + Invest. Decoy eats placements, Warp skips camped corridors, Invest refunds the expensive kit faster. Study trap identities on the trap reference and the opinionated traps tier list before you blame “lag” for a Black Hole eat.
Abilities versus traps
Think of the energy economy as a tug-of-war:
- Slow / Default / Small traps — low Piggy cost; your Decoy or careful pathing beats panic Sprint spam.
- Alarm traps — information for the hunter; Decoy can false-trigger them so the real you flanks.
- Big / Black Hole / Tornado-style — expensive area denial; Warp or pre-cleared routes matter more than raw Sprint.
- Teleporter — relocates Piggy; Radar/Scanner help you reacquire after a surprise flank.
- Event heavies (Tombstone, Crawling, Snowpiggy, etc.) — high energy sinks for Piggy; punish overcommit by forcing them to place early, then Mag Glass the freed objective.
If you are Traitor, your survivor abilities are replaced by traps—a tell teammates can read. If you are hunting Traitors, watch who suddenly lost Mag Glass icons.
When abilities are disabled
Do not file a bug report until you check mode and chapter rules. Abilities are off or restricted in:
- Tag gamemode
- Certain ending boss segments (for example TIO portions of Hidden Ending)
- Breakout, many extra chapters, and event maps outside standard Book 1 / Book 2
- Hard Mode (including Build Mode maps that force Hard or first-person hard rules)
Details and voting notes live on Gamemodes and bind reminders on Controls.
Farming blueprints efficiently
- Queue familiar Book 1 maps on Bot so you can sweep spawn benches without Player-trap panic.
- Learn one map’s blueprint spots (Station laser room, House sheds, Alleys hotel tape zones) and rotate.
- Finish the escape anyway—tokens buy the ability after blueprints complete.
- Avoid event chapters that suppress blueprint spawns if your only goal is the bar.
- After unlocks, practice each new ability once in Bot House before trusting it in Swarm.
Practice routine
- Clear House and Station without abilities until routes are boring.
- Equip Mag Glass only; force one intentional scan per round.
- Add Sprint; allow yourself one chase save.
- Replace Mag Glass with Team Mag Glass in stacked lobbies.
- Drill Decoy on a friend placing Alarm traps in Build Mode—see Build Mode.

Abilities do not replace map knowledge. They buy seconds—seconds you already planned with a green key in hand and a crouch ready. Unlock deliberately, spend energy like it is scarce, and make every Mag Glass scan feed the next objective instead of a tourist lap of empty rooms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I unlock survivor abilities in Piggy?
Collect eight blueprints for an ability (they spawn on maps), then buy the completed ability with Piggy Tokens in the shop.
How many abilities can I equip?
Up to three at once. Each spends from the same energy bar when activated.
Why can’t I use abilities in Tag?
Tag disables abilities by design. Other restrictions include some ending fights, Breakout/event chapters, and Hard Mode.
What is a good beginner ability loadout?
Sprint, Magnifying Glass, and Flare. You get a panic button, item intel, and a chase breaker without maxing expensive Warp costs.
Do Traitors keep survivor abilities?
No. As Traitor, your abilities are replaced by traps—which teammates can use as a deduction tell.
How does energy regenerate?
Energy refills over time up to the cap (shown as 10). Invest and Team Energy Boost change how fast you or allies recover points.
